Emerging from the North Shore beaches of P.E.I., country singer-songwriter Lawrence Maxwell grew up listening to the waves and classic country music. Though it wasn’t until his service with the Royal Canadian Navy that he truly began exploring his passion for singing. During long sails and port visits, he would sing classic country hits on the ship or at the local bar to entertain his shipmates.

Upon his return to P.E.I., Maxwell began writing original music and recorded his debut album, “Not Your Outlaw,” which earned him a nomination for the 2019 Music P.E.I. - Country Recording of the Year. Chris Pride of 95.1FM CFCY dubbed the album, “alt-country, alt-rock, and all-chill.” With airplay on CBC Mainstreet, and The East Coast Music Hour, country music fans have been rejoicing at a fresh yet pure voice for their genre.

Sharing the stage with artists such as: Ryan Cook, The Modern Grass & The Stanfield’s, he has performed at notable venues such as: Cavendish Beach Music Festival, P.E.I. Brewing Company, and Dieppe Arts & Culture Centre. Whether you hear him perform live or listen to his studio recordings, Lawrence Maxwell’s music will flow through you like a ship on the ocean.
